About this comparison tool
How PDF comparison works
The browser extracts selectable text from each document and compares it line by line. Some PDF layouts may change extraction order or spacing, especially multi-column layouts and tables.
What this tool does not compare
This is not a pixel-by-pixel PDF visual comparison. Images, scanned content, signatures and graphical layout are not compared. Scanned PDFs require OCR, which this version does not provide.
Frequently asked questions
Can it read a scanned PDF?
Not yet. PDFs made from pictures generally have no selectable text. This version does not include optical character recognition (OCR).
Do PDFs leave my browser?
PDF files are read locally. A PDF parsing library is loaded from a CDN when needed, but the file is not sent to our server.
